Countries

While travelling there has been a total of 35 countries I have had a chance to visit. On this page, you can find a breakdown of each of the countries and cities that I have stayed in. Each Country will provide a brief introduction on where I have visited in that country. While clicking on the country name will bring you to a page with photos, information and links to all relevant posts for the country.

Please note that this page is currently under construction. The country name links will progressively be added as they pages are complete.

American Samoa

I visited American Samoa as part of a Transpacific Cruise in September/October 2011. The cruise ship visited the port of Pago Pago.

Aruba

I visited Aruba as part of a Panama Canal Cruise in April 2011. The cruise ship visited the port of Oranjestad.

Australia

I was born in Australia, so it is naturally a country that I have visited. Brisbane is the city that I was born in. However, I have also visited Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, along with a number of other towns in between.

Austria

Austria is a country that I had wanted to visit for some time. During my 2012 trip to Europe, I had the chance to visit the city of Vienna for ten days.

Azores

The Azores Island were the first two ports of call for my Transatlantic cruise in 2012. The first port of call was Horta with the second being Ponta Del Gada.

Belgium

I visited the country of Belgium as part of my trip to Europe in 2012. I stayed in the city of Brussels, while also making visits to Antwerp and Ghent.

Canada

I have visited Canada on a number of occasions as part of trips in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

2010 – During my first overseas trip I visited Vancouver for 10 days and Toronto for two days.

2011 – During my third overseas trip I visited Vancouver and Victoria for three days each. It was on this trip I boarded the MS Volendam in Vancouver to complete the Transpacific Cruise.

2012 – During my Europe trip, I stopped in both Toronto and Vancouver on my way back to Australia.

Colombia

I visited Columbia as part of a Panama Canal Cruise in April 2011. The cruise ship visited the city of Cartegena.

Costa Rica

I visited Aruba as part of a Panama Canal Cruise in April 2011. The cruise ship visited the city of Puerto Caldera.

Croatia

I visited Croatia as part of my Mediterranean Cruise in April 2012. The cruise ship visited the city of Dubrovnik.

Denmark

I visited the country of Denmark as part of my trip to Europe in 2012. I stayed in the city of Copenhagen and also go to visit some of the surrounding areas.

England

I have visited England on a number of occasions but a couple of these were just transit stops. During my first overseas trip, I spent 7 days in England. Some of this time was spent exploring the south areas of the country. I travelled between, London, Amesbury, Devizes, Plymouth, Dartmouth, Dover and back to London.

Subsequently in my 2012 Europe trip I stayed overnight in London and Manchester at two points for conveinient transit between flights.

Fiji

I visited Fiji as part of a Transpacific Cruise in September/October 2011. The cruise ship visited the town of Suva.

France

I visited the country of France as part of my trip to Europe in 2012. I stayed in the city of Nice and

Germany

I first visited Germany as a transit stop on my first overseas trips. There were two transits stops in Frankfurt as part of this trip. Then as part of my Europe 2012 trip, I spent a few days in Berlin.

Greece

I visited Greece as part of my Mediterranean Cruise in 2012. There was three port calls the ship made including Nafplio, Katakolo and Kerkira.

Guatemala

I visited Guatemala as part of a Panama Canal Cruise in April 2011. The cruise ship visited the city of Puerto Quetzal.

Hong Kong

I visited Hong Kong as the last stop on my first overseas trip in 2010. While in Hong Kong I stayed in the area known as Kowloon.

Hungary

I visited Hungary just for one day as part of a Day trip to Budapest when I was visiting Vienna.

Iceland

I visited Iceland as part of my Europe 2012 trip. In the beginning, it was to be a convenient transit stop. However, I soon decided to spend three days in Reykjavik.

Italy

Italy was a big part of my Mediterranean Cruise in 2012 with five port calls in total. These port calls included Florence, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Catania, Taormina and Venice.

Mexico

I visited Mexico as part of a Panama Canal Cruise in April 2011. There were a total of five ports visited by the cruise ship throughout the cruise. Including the cities of Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco, Puerto Chiapas, Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas.

Monaco

While I was staying in Nice, France, it seemed like a good idea to take a day trip to visit Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Netherlands

The Netherlands were a part of my 2012 trip to Europe. I stayed in the city of Amsterdam and got to explore some of the surrounding towns as part of some tours.

New Caledonia

I have visited New Caledonia twice. The first time was part of a Transpacific Cruise in September/October 2011. The second time was a cruise in February 2017 from Brisbane, Australia.

New Zealand

I have had the opportunity to visit New Zealand twice. The first time was in December 2011 where I visited Auckland for work, at this time I also visited the Coromandel Peninsula. The second trip was in October 2015, visiting Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

Panama

I visited Panama as part of a Panama Canal Cruise in April 2011. There were a number of points of interest visited in Panama, including a port call in Fuerte Amador. However, there was also the transit both eastbound and westbound through the Panama Canal.

Portugal

I visited Portugal as part of my Transatlantic Cruise in 2012. There was originally two ports of call, but bad weather saw one port cancelled and we spent an overnight stop in the city of Lisbon.

South Korea

I visited South Korea as part of my flight from Australia to Europe. There was an overnight spot included in the city of Seoul.

Spain

I visited Spain as part of my 2012 Transatlantic Cruise. It turned out to be the highlight of this segment of the cruise with three port calls. The ports included an overnight stay in Cadiz and single days in Malaga and Barcelona.

Switzerland

Although I have visited Switzerland and have the stamp in my passport, the stop was nothing more than a transit stop. It was due to a delay in my flight from London to Frankfurt and the airline rerouted me.

The United States of America

I have visited America as part of all four of my major overseas trips and it is the country which I have spent the most time to date.

2010 – On my first overseas trip I visited Seattle for four nights and Las Vegas for ten nights. Additionally, I transited through Los Angeles and took a day trip to The Grand Canyon

2011 – On my first trip in 2011, I returned to Seattle and continued onto San Francisco and San Diego. As part of my Panama Canal Cruise, I visited Fort Lauderdale before returning to San Diego. I took then travelled to Dallas, San Francisco and finished with a few days in Los Angeles.

The second trip in 2011 I transited through Los Angeles and onto Las Vegas. I returned to Seattle for a few days with a friend and also spent time in Portland. Finally making three stops in Hawaii as part of my Transpacific Cruise, including Hilo, Honolulu and Kona.

2012 – As part of my 2012 overseas trip I spent time in New York including a day trip to Washington, D.C. before flying to Fort Lauderdale to board a cruise. At the end of the trip I transited through Los Angeles to fly home to Brisbane.

Vanuatu

My visit to Vanuatu was part of a 10-day South Pacific cruise from Brisbane in February 2017. Although the itinerary originally contained four ports, due to weather we only visited three. The three ports which the cruise visited were Port Vila, Champagne Bay and Luganville.

Vatican City

My visit to Vatican City was part of my 2012 Mediterranean Cruise. In the port of Civitavecchia, I choose a cruise tour to Rome, which included a visit to Vatican City and St Peters Basilica.

Western Samoa

I visited Western Samoa as part of a Transpacific Cruise in September/October 2011. The cruise ship visited the port of Apia.
