Travel Explored Week 10 Round Up

Travel Explored Week 10 Round-up

The past week has definitely been a little different. I have still been working towards getting back into a regular flow with my new MacBook Pro. While also facing challenges with the weather that has been passing through Brisbane recently.

In some ways, the change of computer is something that I have been in preparation for over a longer term. Not because I specifically knew I would be getting a new computer at any point. But what I wanted to do was try and move away from my reliance on using a single computer.

Earlier last year I had a couple of problems one seeing me without the computer for two days. While it was not the end of the world and I had backups, I found that too much of what I was working on was tied up on one computer. So since that time, I have moved much of my writing work into cloud storage I can access from anywhere.

But I suppose I am getting a little too far into detail for an opening here, so will leave it there. It is something that I will look to elaborate on in the near future as a complete post. Becuase I think that it is something people travelling while working may be able to benefit from. But let’s get into taking a look at the new content this week and a little of what I have been reading.

Coffee, Helps Me Adult – Week 9, 2018

Coffee - Coconut Coffee House, Ormiston

There has been another great selection of coffee shops that I have shared this week, or at least I think so. Included this week was The Park Cafe, Seed Coffee, Morning After, Deb’s Coffee, The Green Room Cafe, Coconut Coffee House and Pomeroy’s. Check out the post for more details about where to find the coffee shops and a little more about each one.

Cruising & Your Mobile Phone

Cruising and Your Mobile Phone

One rather common question I hear about travelling on cruise ships is around can you use your mobile phone. So I have put together a little information about taking and using your mobile phone while onboard. The basic idea is to avoid using the phone, but there is some ways that you might be able to use it while onboard.

Taking A Wander Around Wynnum

Wynnum - Bay Terrace

Wynnum is an area that I visit somewhat regularly and is a rather nice area to take a walk around and enjoy a coffee. Settlement in the area dates back to the 1800’s and the area has a rather nice street shopping precinct. Adding to this quite a number of nice cafes with some good coffee.

Where Do You REALLY Want To Travel

Where Do You REALLY Want To Travel

I am always intrigued when I talk to people to find out where they would like to travel. Often I am surprised to find that their travel aspirations are somewhat shallow in that they either only can think of the place that was recently advertised or the closest party destination. I hope that this post does encourage a few more people to think a little deeper about where they would like to travel.

Getting On The Bike & Peddling My Way Through 2018

On The Bike - At Home

Even though riding my bike is something that I rather enjoy over the past number of years it has been something I have not done. So I have decided to set a little target to get out and ride more in 2018. I start riding more frequently in January and to date I am making good progress on my goal. You can find more details in this post.

5 Quick Travel Tips

5 Quick Travel Tips To Think About

I wanted to give you something a little lighter for the weekend and put together this quick read with five travel tips. There is nothing to groundbreaking in here, but I hope that it gives you something a little more to think about while travelling.

What I am Reading

Get Paid to Travel Around Europe Taking Photos This Summer

How could I pass up reading an article with a title like that? I had a good read and have been looking into what I need to do to apply. Because that would be a rather interesting way to spend a few months.

These Unexpected Cities Have the Best Coffee in the U.S.

I think that it has somewhat been my week for catching just the right headlines as I am looking through my feeds. The idea of a head start for where to look for the best coffee is always intriguing and this list is rather useful. Especially considering it gives me some planning ideas for the next time I head to America.

This Glass-bottom Pool Haning Over Honolulu Has the Most Breathtaking Views

Although it is not the first swimming pool to be featured hanging in the air with a glass bottom, it is one of the most open ones I have seen. Most other glass bottom pools do not seem to extend out quite as far or have more framework around them. I would find it rather interesting to give it a look, but not sure how long I would want to stand or sit over the edge.

Thank You

I hope that you have enjoyed the updates this week. If there are any topics that you would like to see me cover or share a post about, please feel free to leave a comment below.
